Simon Buckby

Senior Managing Director

Simon is a Senior Managing Director, based in Teneo’s Hong Kong office, where he offers strategic advice to executives across the Asia-Pacific region and globally. He has extensive experience in C-suite counsel, including crisis management and executive positioning, drawn from his deep involvement in media and politics.

Between 2005 and 2017 Simon founded, managed and then sold a respected London-based communications consultancy. He relocated to Hong Kong in 2018 where he was Managing Partner for an international business communications consultancy. A former journalist with the Financial Times and reporter for BBC Television, Simon previously ran a UK campaign about the European Union headed by FTSE100 business leaders and then Prime Minister, Tony Blair.

Simon is a member of the Advisory Board of the School of Politics and International Studies at the University of Leeds, and for three years he was a trustee of the highly respected London think-tank, New Philanthropy Capital.
