James Bowen

Managing Director

Prior to joining Teneo, James was co-founder and Managing Director of Kotinos Partners – a niche, Dublin-based advisory firm partnering with clients to deliver rapid performance improvement.

James is an expert in strategy and organisational design and a consultant with over 20 years of experience. Over the course of his career, James has worked with executive teams of companies ranging from startups to blue-chip multinationals on engagements with the achievement of step-change performance improvement as their common goal. He has worked globally across a number of industry sectors, including Life Sciences, Financial Services, FMCG, TMT and Retail. James is co-author of the award-winning book “Powerhouse – Insider Accounts into the World’s Top High-performance Organizations” published in October 2016 by Kogan Page, and is a regular writer on topics relating to High Performance.

Prior to founding Kotinos, he was a Director of Genesis Ireland and also of pmpgenesis Limited in London. Before that he worked in London, the USA, Asia and Ireland with Marakon Associates, Andersen Business Consulting and Deloitte.

James holds an undergraduate degree in Chemical Engineering from University College Dublin and an MBA from IMD in Switzerland. He has an operational background, having held management roles in Sales, Manufacturing and Purchasing in Smurfit Kappa Group companies in Ireland, Venezuela and the UK. He also a former President of the IMD Alumni Association of Ireland.

James lives in Dublin with his wife, Helen and their four sons Hugh, Patrick, Ben and Max.
