Managing Director

Laurence is a Managing Director with Teneo, based in Riyadh.

Laurence has over 35 years’ experience in strategic communications for clients around the world advising on corporate, reputation and financial issues. He has spent a large part of his career in Asia and the Middle East working in Hong Kong, Shanghai, Singapore the UAE and Saudi Arabia.

He has broad experience in strategic advisory, including crisis work, across a variety of industries including rail, finance, infrastructure, aviation, insurance and hospitality with clients such as ACE Group, Singapore Airlines, Barclays Group, SG, Savola, Limitless, Hyatt, JinJiang Hotels and the government of Abu Dhabi. He was also the practice lead for customer experience development across Asia for a creative services agency.

He has held positions as group admission, communications and marketing director for an independent international schools group with schools in China, South Korea, Singapore and Burma. He was corporate communications director for one of the world’s largest integrated marine aquaculture projects in Saudi Arabia and was communications and marketing director for an company which was accelerating private sector investment in Asian infrastructure development.

He led the corporate communications team for Gavin Anderson and Company in the UK, opened its Middle East operation and later headed up the Hong Kong and Singapore offices for that firm.

He began his career with Valin Pollen in London and is a graduate of the School of Asian and African Studies at London University.
