Teneo, the global CEO Advisory firm is hiring for an Assistant Accountant who will be responsible for producing accurate and timely financial records for Teneo’s Hong Kong, China and Japan operations. They will also assist the Regional finance team and local management with budgeting and forecasting.

Key Responsibilities

Regional Finance Support

  • Reporting to the Regional Finance Manager
  • Support the Finance team to handle daily accounting matters related Hong Kong, China and Japan
  • Ensure that the Regional Finance Lead is made aware of any potential issues

Hong Kong, China and Japan

  • Responsible for full set of accounts including journal input
  • Prepare & send out client invoices after coordinating & agreeing amounts with the relevant project leads
  • Ensure prompt payment of all client invoices by following up regularly to confirm payment dates
  • Process vendor invoices in the system and upload payment to the bank for on time settlement
  • Ensure adequate supporting is received for employee expenses claim
  • Prepare month-end closing, monthly control files and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Assist in budgeting and forecast
  • Assist in audit and statutory tax filing
  • Support preparation of statutory accounts
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory bodies
  • Maintain an understanding of the control environment needed for a regulated business and ensure sufficient controls in place

Requirements:

  • Entry level graduates or up to 2 years related experience
  • Bachelor’s degree with Finance, Accounting, Business or related disciplines is required
  • Should be fluent in English and Chinese - speaking & writing
  • Experience of working in the finance function of a professional services business is an advantage
  • Ensures all reports, data and written work are correct in detail and without error
  • Self-motivated, problem solving skills and able to work independently
