Matthew Thomlinson is a Managing Director at Teneo, based in London. He is Co-Lead of Teneo’s Strategic Sports Advisory team, with over ten years of experience advising across strategic and financial communications.
Matthew works closely with sports organisations, their investors and their partners on existential issues, in order to maximise commercial upside and minimise reputational downside.

Prior to joining the Teneo Strategic Sports Advisory team, Matthew spent four years as a core member of Teneo’s Financial Communications team, advising public and private companies on matters relating to capital markets, media relations and investor relations, as well as on special situations such as M&A, issues management and litigation.
Before his time at Teneo, Matthew spent five years at Kekst CNC, where he focused on cross-border M&A, private equity and crisis communications. He is a fluent German speaker and spent time on secondment at the firm’s Frankfurt office. Matthew started his career at Headland, where he worked across a range of integrated, high-profile UK corporate clients.
