Matthew is a Director in Teneo’s Credit Solutions Group, having joined Teneo in August 2024 from Deloitte where he was a member of the Global Portfolio Lead Advisory team in London.
Matthew is a senior member of Teneo’s Credit Solutions Group with over 13 years experience providing strategic advice to financial institutions across the UK, Europe, Middle East and Australia on loan portfolio transactions and fund raising mandates.
Prior to joining Teneo, Matthew worked in Deloitte’s Global Portfolio Lead Advisory Services practice based in London where he worked on a range of transactions advising and supporting both buyers and sellers of loan portfolios. More recently Matt has led several debt portfolio sales in the UK and Europe (across performing/non-performing loans). Matt commenced his career in Australia working at a leading Restructuring firm and subsequently worked in house at National Australia Bank as a distressed and workout loan portfolio manager.
Selected Project Experience:
- Advised a European Financial Institution on the successful sale of two loan portfolios totalling £300m of Infrastructure loans in the UK
- Advised a European Bank on the successful sale of a €700m non performing portfolio SME/Business loans in Poland
- Advised UK Challenger Bank on the successful acquisition of a £660m portfolio of performing SME and Business loans located in the United Kingdom
- Advised a real estate development fund setup by a sovereign wealth fund on four loan portfolio pre-acquisition reviews totalling USD $250m, in Saudi Arabia
- Advised a Private Equity client on the successful acquisition of a €1bn Greek non-performing Corporate/SME loan portfolio
