Matt Newton-Syms is an Associate Director in Teneo Financial Advisory in Birmingham, having joined Teneo as part of its purchase of Deloitte’s UK Restructuring business.

Matt advises and works with stressed and distressed businesses and their stakeholders across a number of sectors with a particular focus on the automotive industry and working with government. Matt’s experience sits across various work streams including roles as Government PMO on the Special Administration of Bulb, leading the insolvency of a Private Finance Initiative (PFI) project company, managing the exit of a tier 1 automotive manufacturer from the UK over a 15-month trading period, contingency planning for a number of global steel manufacturers and supporting an agricultural business to divest of a loss making subsidiary. He has also conducted various advisory projects such as independent business reviews.

Matt also has experience gained during his time in Risk Advisory including internal audit, service auditor reporting and controls advisory engagements across multiple sectors.
