Mark Wainwright

Managing Director

Mark Wainwright is a Managing Director at Teneo, based in London.

Mark is a digital and social media planner, helping companies improve their approach in these areas for over 13 years. He splits his time between working on Teneo London’s digital team helping clients with social media strategy, content planning and creative concepting. Mark’s recent clients include Astellas, Macmillan Cancer Research, Texthelp and Whirlpool.

Mark is also responsible for driving Planning excellence in London, helping teams to identify the right strategic questions and to develop killer insights that unlock great creative ideas.

Mark is an experienced trainer, delivering a range of training sessions, including Agile Content Training and Digital Storytelling. In addition, Mark regularly hosts insights sessions covering the latest in social, digital and communications trends.

Before joining Teneo, Mark worked across a range of PR and social agencies, most recently at We Are Social. He’s led work for the likes of adidas, Sony Europe, Lenovo, RSPCA, Starwood Hotels, BP, Betty Crocker, Disney, Lucozade, Dolby, Zurich Insurance, Capital One, Tesco and Virgin Holidays.

Mark began working in social media and digital communications at Kingston-based social media consultancy immediate future. There he led the Sony Europe account and worked on projects for AVG and the RSPCA. In 2011 Mark moved to Launch PR, where he led the digital team and spearheaded the agency’s approach to social across the business. He worked on a large number of projects for the likes of Starwood Hotels, BP, Betty Crocker, Disney, Lucozade, Dolby, Zurich Insurance, Capital One, Tesco and Virgin Holidays. Before joining Teneo, Mark was Senior Account Director at We Are Social. He worked on two global clients, adidas and Lenovo, leading large teams and handling million-dollar budgets.

Prior to moving into social media and digital, Mark worked in the music industry for six years. He specialised in regional PR, and college & club promotions. He worked with a variety of bands and artists, including Franz Ferdinand, Kings of Leon and Belle & Sebastian.
