Mark Burgess has over 30 years of senior fund management experience and was most recently Chief Investment Officer (CIO) EMEA and Deputy Global CIO for Columbia Threadneedle Investments, a position he held for 9 years.

Prior to that he was Head of Equities for LGIM which at the time was the largest owner of UK equities, and a firm where he also headed up the Corporate Governance effort. He started his career as UK equity fund manager and held senior roles in this capacity with Deutsche Asset Management in their UK pension fund business.

Mark was a founding board member of the Investor Forum and Chairman of the Investment Committee for the Investment Association. He also served on the advisory panel for the Kingman review into the FRC. In 2018 Mark won investment leader of the year in the efinancial news investment awards. Mark is an associate trustee of Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity and sits on their investment committee.
