Duncan Perring

Director

Duncan Perring is a Director with Teneo in London, having joined Teneo as part of its purchase of Deloitte’s UK Restructuring business.

Prior to the acquisition, Duncan spent over 13 years at Deloitte, EY and KPMG, working closely with stakeholders and boards to develop and implement solutions.

Duncan’s focus is to advise on the options available for loss-making, non-core and/or non-strategic companies, with a depth of experience in implementing solvent exits and asset disposals. Duncan’s specialist area is in advising regulated financial services industry clients.​

Duncan also advises on Legal Entity Rationalisation (“LER”) projects to reduce legal structure complexity and cost through the elimination of corporate entities both in the UK and globally, with emphasis on maximising returns to shareholders.

Duncan is a chartered accountant (ACA) and is a qualified insolvency practitioner (JIEB).

Selected Project Experience

  • Advising a London-based retail bank board in respect to solvent wind down and leading the implementation of a solvent exit. This included the cancellation of banking permissions and running the collection and sale of loan portfolios within a solvent liquidation.
  • Leading a directly commissioned s.166 (Skilled Person Review) focussing on the solvent wind down and exit of a distressed retail bank.
  • Leading a firm commissioned s.166 (Skilled Person Review), focussing on solvent wind down planning for a retail bank with over 3 million customers.
  • Advising an EU bank on the solvent wind down of its UK branch, including guiding the branch through exiting the Temporary Permissions Regime and entering Supervised Run-Off.
  • Leading the solvent liquidation of a commercial credit lender’s presence in the UK in order to simplify its corporate structure and release capital through the wider US-based group.
  • Leading the solvent liquidation of a FCA solo-regulated lender’s presence in the UK following a wider sale process.
  • Advising and providing implementation support to a multinational private banking group rationalising its booking centre footprint and transferring client relationships to retain value.
