Chris Wearing is the Chairman of Teneo’s International business and the firm’s Chief Commercial Officer.
In his roles, Chris oversees the identification and development of new markets and businesses which will serve as significant growth vehicles for Teneo globally. These efforts have included the establishment of Teneo’s Management Consulting, People Advisory (search), Teneo Connect (global event management), Energy and Infrastructure and Sports Advisory Services (via Altius8 investment) as well as opening up Teneo’s presence in Japan, France, Germany and Abu Dhabi. Chris is an advisor to a number of global CEOs and spends a considerable amount of time in the UAE across a number of clients there helping with their global brand and business development.
Prior to joining Teneo, Chris was with JPMorgan Chase as Head of Strategic Reengineering. Before that, he was with Accenture for over 25 years, where he held a number of leadership positions including Managing Partner of the New York office for seven years (then the largest consulting firm in NYC with 4,000 consultants), U.S. Head for their Financial Services business and the Global Head of the Financial Services Talent and Organizational Performance practice. He also led their Capital Markets and Banking Client Service groups for the U.S. He was the Global Client Partner for a number of major Fortune 100 companies. consulting in Europe, the Americas and the Far East.
In 2001, Chris co-founded NPower (a national non-profit that provides comprehensive, high-quality & affordable technology assistance to thousands of non- profits across the U.S and annually trains thousands of underserved youth in technology skills) and was the Chairman of the Board for many years. Chris was the Chairman of the Board of Trustees for the Big Apple Circus for six years and also Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Only Make Believe. Chris represented Accenture on the Partnership for New York City Board and was a David Rockefeller Fellow (Class of 2003). He has presented on Corporate Philanthropy at the United Nations and The White House.
Chris holds a B.A. degree in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics from Oxford University. He lives in New Canaan, CT with his wife, Danielle, and their sons Christopher and Ian and daughter Grace.
