Charles Stewart-Smith is a Managing Director at Teneo, combining expertise in media relations, government affairs and financial communications.
He works across a range of clients with particular experience in media, property, not-for-profit, government, security and ultra high net worth individuals. He also has responsibility for new business across the consultancy.
Charles started his career as a journalist on local papers in the North East, before moving to the BBC and then ITN, where he became Editor of News At Ten. On leaving journalism, Charles co-founded the media and government relations consultancy, Luther Pendragon, and was also a founding director of GPlus in Brussels. He sold both in 2005.
He then worked on a portfolio of clients, including a major piece of work on counter-terrorism and counter-radicalisation communications for the UK’s Office for Security and Counter-Terrorism. Charles joined Teneo full time in 2012.
Charles is a trustee of the Disasters Emergency Committee.
