Kristian Shuttleworth is a Managing Director with Teneo in Leeds, having joined Teneo as part of its purchase of Deloitte’s UK Restructuring business.
Kristian has 23 years of experience working with stakeholders to develop and implement restructuring solutions.
He leads complex restructuring assignments including financial options reviews for stakeholders but also takes formal insolvency appointments.
Kristian’s clients typically include private equity owned or owner managed companies and/or their lenders. His focus is on turnaround, options analysis, business disposals, debt refinancing, contingency planning and insolvency.

- Project Phoenix – Financial liquidity and options review for a specialist healthcare business and its lender with £20m secured debt.
- Axis Logistics Ltd – Lead Administrator of a fuel distribution business which was part of the wider Prax Group insolvency appointments.
- TEI Ltd – Lead Administrator delivering a prepack sale of a £35m turnover specialist industrial engineering services business which saved all 219 jobs.
- Project Blaze – Relevant alternative comparator report analysis for a successfully implemented Scheme of Arrangement for a multi-jurisdictional complex group.
- TXM Plant – Administrator leading the managed wind down of a £50m national rail maintenance plant services provider; delivering asset disposals which facilitated continued rail network maintenance across the UK.
- Black Sheep Brewery – Lead Administrator delivering a prepack sale to preserve the business and its nationally recognised brand, which saved all 150 jobs. This followed an options review and accelerated sale process for the company.
- Project Oscar – Financial options and liquidity review of a £160m turnover food production group and its secured lender with £30m secured debt.
- Hesley Group – Financial options review of a specialist healthcare business and its syndicate of secured lenders with £50m secured debt; followed by a successful business disposal to new private equity owners.
- Cassellie Ltd – Managed wind-down of a bathroom products wholesale business based in West Yorkshire.
- Gourmet Burger Kitchen – Accelerated M&A sale process resulting in prepack sale that saved 35 restaurant sites and 669 jobs.
- Project Webber – Company advisor to a national retailer with circa 500 sites. Role included a full assessment of options following the impact of COVID-19 on performance, and negotiations with incumbent lenders.
- YO! Sushi Ltd – Board advisor on restructuring options with subsequent CVA implementation for a casual dining business with around 80 sites.
- Go Outdoors Ltd – Accelerated M&A sale process resulting in prepack sale of £230m turnover outdoor clothing retailer, saving around 2,400 jobs.
- Arcadia Group – Contingency planning and CVA preparation for a £2bn turnover multi-national retail business.
- Project Augusta – Financial review of a £70m turnover engineering business, manufacturing specialist steel products for a range of sectors including automotive, offshore, defence, and steel plant.
- Project Tulip – Board advisor to a £70m turnover discount retailer, with 12 stores positioned across the North of England and the Midlands. Roles included Accelerated M&A process, stakeholder management and contingency planning. Solvent sale executed and full repayment for lender.
- Poundworld Retail Ltd – led the Administration managed wind-down strategy of the 335 store discount retailer, including driving significant lease premium realisations and working alongside Hilco as stock liquidation agent. Insolvency role followed a CVA diagnostic and accelerated marketing process.
