Kensey Biggs

Managing Director & Head of U.S. Corporate ESG

Kensey Biggs is Managing Director and Head of U.S. Corporate ESG at Teneo.

Kensey Biggs has nearly twenty years of corporate experience as a trusted advisor, including over a decade counseling public and private companies, both large and small, on ESG matters and investor relations. She has extensive experience advising C-suites and Boards on how to reposition organizations to succeed in a rapidly evolving corporate world where stakeholders increasingly demand transformative action on environmental and social matters.

Kensey has advised dozens of Fortune 500 companies on ESG strategy, oversight, infrastructure, integration, and reporting. With her deep experience in investor relations, she brings an investor’s perspective to sustainability and ESG, favoring a data-driven approach focused on the link between material sustainability factors and a company’s financial performance.

Prior to joining Teneo, Kensey was a Senior Vice President in ESG at Truist Financial Corporation, a top 10 U.S. bank formed from the merger of SunTrust and BB&T. As an ESG expert at the enterprise level, she reported to Truist’s Chief Sustainability Officer and helped build the bank’s ESG practice from the ground up after the merger. She completed ESG mandates for Truist’s C-suite and Board of Directors, including working with Truist’s Senior Director of Environmental Sustainability to develop the bank’s long-term climate strategy and pathway to Net Zero emissions, as well as its plan to capture ESG growth opportunities for the business.

Prior to Truist, Kensey was a Senior Counselor at Abernathy MacGregor. She built Abernathy’s inaugural ESG offering for clients in 2017, training and advising CEOs and Boards on ESG throughout the corporate life cycle – from strategy conception to sustainability accounting and reporting. Kensey also served as a founding Co-Chair of the AMO Network’s Global ESG Taskforce, a committee of ESG experts spanning four continents.

Before Abernathy, Kensey founded Dalloway Advisory Group. She won consulting contracts with private equity firms, two family offices, and U.S. Deputy Treasury Secretary Justin Muzinich, as well as New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s longest-serving spokesman Stu Loeser.

Earlier in her career, Kensey spent four years at Teneo in New York, joining in 2011 as the company’s 13th employee. She focused on building Teneo’s investor relations practice and began her ESG advisory work, including counseling Fortune 50 companies on ESG in investor relations and managing the launch of the Shareholder-Director Exchange (SDX), a corporate governance initiative developed in partnership with the largest U.S. asset managers and Directors at leading public companies.

Kensey was an Associate in Private Wealth Management at Goldman Sachs in New York. Her team covered some of the bank’s most prominent ultra-high-net-worth clients. Prior to this role, Kensey worked directly for Goldman’s Global Head of Private Wealth Management.

Kensey holds a Bachelor of Arts from Furman University. She also studied at Oxford University’s Jesus College and completed Accounting and Finance coursework through Harvard Business School’s HBX program.

In 2022, Kensey was named one of the Top 25 Sustainability Leaders in Consulting, and she was also named one of the Top 50 Most Powerful Women in Business by the National Diversity Council. She currently serves on JUST Capital’s JUST Generation (JUST Gen) Committee. Previously, she was a member of The U.S. Humane Society’s Humane Generations Committee in New York and also was the Head of 2020 Women on Boards (2020 WOB) in Tennessee. Kensey lives in Nashville with her husband Jason and son Miller.
