Hywel Phillips

Director

Hywel Phillips is a Director in Teneo’s Financial Advisory business. Hywel advises the management teams and stakeholders of corporates that are experiencing periods of  financial stress.

Hywel joined Teneo as part of its purchase of Deloitte’s UK Restructuring business and has over 15 years’ experience of delivering restructuring transactions. He focuses on advising mid-market businesses and their stakeholders.  Typical projects include:

  • Rapid assessment of short/medium term cash forecasts and identification of levers that can be used to improve working capital.
  • Hands on assistance to develop business plans to support debt raises and debt restructuring (e.g. amend-extend) using his financial forecasting skills and excellent relationships with bank credit teams.
  • Using knowledge of formal and informal restructuring processes to negotiate solutions in complex, multi-stakeholder transactions.

As well has his own extensive experience, Hywel leverages the skills of the wider Teneo team (e.g. industry, strategy, pensions, M&A) and his extensive network of specialists (e.g. legal, valuation, turnaround) to deliver rounded solutions for his clients.

Hywel is also a qualified insolvency practitioner and has managed large finance and operational teams over extended timeframes ahead of business sales and/or controlled closures.
