Chris Lauwerys is a Senior Managing Director and Head of ESG Advisory, Asia Pacific at Teneo.

Chris has more than 20 years of experience managing corporate reputation programmes for clients across a range of sectors including energy and renewables, technology, media, professional and financial services.

Across Asia Pacific, Chris leads Teneo’s ESG practice advising global, regional and local clients in a range of sectors across multiple dimensions of their sustainability and ESG strategies and programmes, both from a risk and opportunity standpoint—across audience insight, narrative and positioning, stakeholder engagement together with impactful, programmatic and sustained reputation campaigning.

This involves advisory for a global climate fund, the leadership of a major insurance business, a multinational material sciences business together with a global advisory, broking, and solutions company as well as a major real estate developer. Chris has overseen sophisticated and multifaced reputation campaigning programmes that deliver high-intensity, international and regional engagement and results over sustained periods of time.

During 2024, Chris served as Campaign Director for COP29, supporting the COP29 Presidency on setting its agenda, building support and bridging the Parties by delivering impact across major engagement moments and the most consequential settings globally leading up, during and following the conference.

Chris previously led Teneo’s Doha office for five years, overseeing the strong growth and development of the firm’s presence in Qatar.
