Teneo Appoints Kees Boef as CEO of its Business in the Netherlands

Teneo, the global CEO advisory firm, today announced new leadership and a strengthening of its team in Amsterdam.

Kees Boef has been appointed CEO of Teneo’s business in the Netherlands and member of the European management team, effective September 16, 2024. He will report to Philippe Blanchard, who leads Teneo’s Continental Europe operations.

Kees joins Teneo from Schiphol Group, the flagship Dutch airport and international transport hub, where he has been Director of Corporate Affairs since 2018. Prior to this, Kees was Director of Corporate Affairs for Achmea, and before that was the CEO of Burson-Marsteller in the Netherlands, where he successfully built their Dutch office. He has also previously held the position as Group Director of Communications and Public Affairs with TNT, an international delivery services company.

Kees began his career in politics after completing a doctorate in public administration from Erasmus University in Rotterdam. In 2000, he became the Political Advisor to Prime Minister Wim Kok, a role he held for just over two years, working closely with government ministers during times of significant change.

“I am very pleased to welcome Kees to lead our Dutch office. He is a highly respected corporate leader in the Netherlands with extensive experience across a range of strategic business challenges,” said Philippe Blanchard, President of Continental Europe, Teneo. “We are excited about Kees’s ambition for the Dutch market and look forward to working with him closely as part of our European and global network of strategic advisors.”

Kees Boef commented, “It is a great pleasure to embark on this new chapter, during which I look forward to leading Teneo’s business in the Netherlands to the next stage of its development. The Netherlands continues to be an important hub for international and national companies. The emergence of new industries and innovative companies with growth ambitions offers great opportunities. Our team is well-placed to deliver Teneo’s fully integrated offer to local, as well as international, clients.”

Teneo launched its Amsterdam office in April 2023 to advise clients on communications, public affairs and strategic counsel. The team includes Anne Bark, Managing Director, who joined Teneo in January of 2024 from Porticus where she was a senior communications advisor. Prior to this, she spent several years in consultancy roles with Brunswick, working across London, Shanghai, Hong Kong and Amsterdam.
