Stéphane Dupuis Joins Teneo as a Managing Director

Teneo, the global CEO advisory firm, today announced the appointment of Stéphane Dupuis as a Managing Director. His appointment strengthens the firm’s advisory capabilities in the areas of government affairs and strategic communications across Europe. He will be based in France, working closely with the firm’s Brussels office.

Stéphane joins Teneo with a stellar track record in senior positions within the French administration. His areas of expertise are key to advising CEOs on changing regulatory environments and geopolitical developments. He has significant experience in policymaking at the national government level and with the EU and international organizations including the OECD. He has worked across a range of policy areas, such as the financial and budgetary policies of the European Union, antitrust, the bloc’s investment priorities and approaches to financing in the context of green and digital policy. Stéphane has led negotiations and participated in crisis management at the highest levels of government.

Prior to joining Teneo, Stéphane was the French Deputy Secretary General for European Affairs (SGAE), in charge of economic sovereignty and competitiveness and directly reported to the French Prime Minister’s Office. Stéphane participated in both defining and presenting France’s policy positions in financial and economic affairs, as well as in industrial, digital and green policy. During the French Presidency of the EU Council in the first half of 2022, he was a key player in inter-governmental negotiations on formative EU legislative proposals. He coordinated the French ministries’ approach to joint EU Member State actions in response to the economic effects of the COVID-19 pandemic and the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

Previously, Stéphane was the Counsellor on competition and antitrust to the Permanent Representation of France to the European Union from 2014 to 2019. He was at the forefront of policy making in state aid control and M&A.

Stéphane graduated from the French École Nationale d’Administration (ENA) in 2009.

Philippe Blanchard, President of Teneo Continental Europe, said, “Stéphane brings substantial experience of policymaking with real business impact at the French and EU levels. We are delighted to welcome him to Teneo where he will advise clients on their critical business challenges, including investments in France and Europe, strategic M&A, geopolitics and legislative challenges.”

Stéphane Dupuis adds, “Teneo offers a unique model of counsel to CEOs and business leaders through its combination of advisory services spanning strategy and communications, political risk, financial and management consulting, and executive search. I am thrilled to join the team as it continues to grow rapidly across Europe and look forward to engaging with clients on their business challenges.”
