So Kim Lau

Managing Director

So Kim Lau is a Managing Director with Teneo Value+ in our global Financial Advisory business. Specialising in restructuring and insolvency, Kim has over 16 years of professional experience in the United Kingdom and Hong Kong.

She has financial advisory and formal insolvency experience across several different sectors, including retail and consumer products, construction, oil and gas and the public sector. Kim advises lenders, directors and a variety of other stakeholders in stressed and distressed situations.

Prior to joining Teneo, Kim was a Transaction Director at Accuracy. Before her time at Accuracy, Kim was a Restructuring Director at EY Hong Kong after transferring from the EY UK team in 2017. While at EY, Kim went on secondment to Alteri, a public equity fund exclusive to Apollo looking at stressed and distressed retail situations across Europe. She also went on secondment to the business support team at Barclays Bank UK to manage its portfolio of underperforming loans and customers.

Kim has a BSc in Accounting & Finance from The University of Birmingham. She is a chartered accountant with the Institute of Scotland and is exam-qualified with the Joint Insolvency Examination Board. She speaks both English and Cantonese.
