Nate Tamarin

Senior Managing Director

Nate is responsible for the supervision of Teneo’s government and public affairs offerings for a diverse set of clients. With an expertise in politics and policy, he provides CEO-level guidance and counsel on an array of regulatory, legislative and reputational priorities.

Nate has served at the highest levels of state, local and federal campaigns and government, joining Teneo after ten years serving President Obama, most recently as Special Assistant to the President for Public Engagement and Associate Director of the White House Office of Political Affairs. In the White House, Nate advised the President, the Vice President, and senior Administration officials on outreach and engagement strategies for an extensive policy portfolio. He managed and led outreach on a wide variety of White House policy, personnel and political priorities; played an instrumental role in building support for important legislation; and crafted and executed successful strategies for Presidential executive actions.

One of the first campaign professionals to join Obama’s longshot Senate primary campaign, in 2003, Nate served as Deputy Campaign Manager on Obama’s successful Senate primary and general elections. He then helped create and run Obama’s political committee, Hopefund, and founded “Yes We Can,” a political training program for young campaign staff. An early member of the Obama presidential campaign, Nate ran the critical Illinois operations and oversaw national political outreach to some of the campaign’s most important constituencies. He helped direct personnel operations for the Obama-Biden Transition Team before joining the White House in January 2009.

Nate is a graduate of the George Washington University with a degree in Political Science.
