Wendy Somerville is a Managing Director with Teneo’s Financial Advisory business in New Zealand, based in Christchurch.
Wendy has over 45 years of accounting experience and specialises in insolvency and business recovery work. Prior to joining Teneo as part of the acquisition of PwC’s New Zealand Business Restructuring Services unit, she was an Executive Director in PwC’s Business Restructuring Services practice, working primarily across the South Island and mid to lower North Island.
Wendy undertakes receivership and liquidation appointments. She has experience in trading businesses, dealing with physical and intangible assets, achieving going concern sales of businesses, dealing with employee entitlements and claims, assessing the validity of secured creditors claims and investigating past transactions that lead to the point of insolvency.
Wendy’s past experience includes in-depth management of debtors, creditors, payroll, client trust accounts, debt collection, staff management and the preparation of financial statements and associated tax returns. Her broad expertise and calm professional manner assist clients in navigating the investigative and procedural aspects of business recovery engagements.
Wendy is a Licensed Insolvency Practitioner and a Member of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CAANZ), the Restructuring, Insolvency and Turnaround Association of New Zealand (RITANZ) and a Fellow of the New Zealand Credit and Finance Institute (NZCFI).
