Tyson Symons is a Managing Director with Teneo’s Financial Advisory business, based in Melbourne.
He has more than 20 years of experience in accounting, restructuring, investigation and advisory, with deep expertise in independent business reviews, stakeholder management and formal insolvency.
Tyson has advised corporates, lenders and government stakeholders across industries including retail, construction, real estate and manufacturing. His recent work includes acting for a large entertainment group, undertaking a lead role in the voluntary administration of the Godfreys Group, managing the administration of Tasman Market Fresh Meats and advising the State of Victoria on various business support programs. He has also undertaken numerous independent business reviews for major banks and corporates, including debt restructuring support for ASX-listed companies and operational reviews of large-scale businesses.
Prior to joining Teneo following its acquisition of PwC’s Australian Business Restructuring Services unit, Tyson was a Director at the firm, where he worked extensively on financial viability reviews, cash flow assessments and distressed business restructurings across Australia and New Zealand.
Tyson holds a Bachelor of Commerce and a Master of Business Administration. He is a Chartered Accountant, a Member of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CAANZ) and the Australian Restructuring Insolvency and Turnaround Association (ARITA).
