Stephen Keen is a Senior Managing Director with Teneo’s Financial Advisory business in New Zealand, based in Auckland.
Stephen has more than 12 years of financial advisory experience in restructuring, insolvency and complex financial investigations across New Zealand and the United Kingdom. Prior to joining Teneo as part of the acquisition of PwC’s New Zealand Business Restructuring Services unit, Stephen worked on large-scale cross-border restructuring and insolvency engagements, including complex administrations, liquidations and asset recovery assignments spanning multiple jurisdictions.
Stephen regularly advises corporates, banks and government entities facing financial and operational challenges. His experience includes formal insolvency appointments, independent business reviews, solvency and viability assessments, as well as directors’ duties and fraud investigations. He regularly takes appointment as a Licensed Insolvency Practitioner in New Zealand and across the South Pacific, delivering pragmatic commercially grounded solutions focused on maximising stakeholder outcomes.
Stephen holds an LLB and a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Otago. He is a Member of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand, holds a Certificate of Public Practice and is a Licensed Insolvency Practitioner. He is admitted as a Barrister and Solicitor of the High Court of New Zealand (non-practicing) and holds the ICAEW Insolvency Certificate in the United Kingdom.
