Stefan Mueckstein is a Director with Teneo’s Energy & Infrastructure business, based in Dubai.
Stefan leads strategic and transaction advisory projects within the Middle East, creating sustainable and long-term client value. He is an experienced senior executive with over 25 years of experience, including 20 years in the Middle East, specializing in renewable energy, strategy, operations and transaction support.
Stefan has a proven track record of scaling high-growth ventures through clean technologies and public-private partnerships. He is adept at developing localized manufacturing strategies in the renewable energy sector, aligning with Saudi Vision 2030.
Stefan is a frequent speaker at conferences on the latest trends in the cleantech and renewable energy sector. He has an Executive MBA from Kellogg School of Management & WHU and a Bachelor of Arts in European Finance and Accounting from Leeds University/Hochschule Bremen.
Select Project Experience:
- KSA Renewable Energy & Localization: Lead KSA renewable energy projects conducting Saudi clean energy market assessments, developing business and partnership strategies, and identifying JV partners.
- PPP Development: Led the end-to-end structuring of a Public Private Partnership for a solar/diesel hybrid power plant in Saudi Arabia’s Empty Quarter, including due diligence, market sounding, and technical specifications.
- Business Growth: Grew Enerwhere from early-stage 7 to 110 employees and ~$1.5M to $25M revenue through strategic expansion, operational scaling, and successful execution of 50+ microgrid projects.
- Operational Design: Redefined core processes (finance, accounting, construction) and supported the creation of investment and credit governance tools for a UAE distributed solar company and its Saudi joint venture.
- Operational Model: Defined multiple operational models, organization structures and governance structures for Saudi client project, as well as implemented them for some clients as well as for Enerwhere as the Chief Operating Officer.
- Cleantech Due Diligence: Led multiple cleantech due diligence projects, including deep market, competitor analysis, benchmarking and technology evaluation.
