Sarah-Jane Laing

Director

Sarah-Jane Laing is a Director with Teneo’s  Financal Advisory business, based in London. Sarah-Jane specialises in contentious Restructuring and Insolvency engagements.

Sarah-Jane’s role involves working closely with clients on Insolvency and Administration appointments, as well as Advisory engagements. Most recently she has been heavily involved in large, complex and contentious administrations within the financial services sector, with particular expertise in navigating sanctions, where she has led teams on the operational winddown of the businesses. Sarah-Jane has extensive experience in contentious engagements, including high profile litigation and works alongside the Forensics team on multiple cases. A trusted advisor working alongside various of the key regulations in the UK and internationally.

Sarah-Jane is on the Bank of England Panel, Resolution Support Services.

Sarah-Jane is a Chartered Accountant, holding an ACA qualification and is JIEB qualified.

 

Select Project Experience:

  • Sberbank CIB UK Limited (Special Administration) – managed the day-to-day operations of Sberbank, in addition to the statutory requirements and sanction matters
  • VTB Capital PLC (Administration) – managing the VTB administration, including sanction and statutory requirements. Running the numerous key litigation cases
  • VTB Capital PLC (Singapore Branch) – ran and completed the solvent winddown of the Singapore branch, including managing the relationship with the key regulators
  • Confidential engagement – led the confidential project, reviewing the overall financial services situation of an overseas Territory, managing multiple conflicting stakeholders needs, including national and local Governments, local and international Regulators and the Bank Board of Directors. Engagement included:
    • Independent Business Review of the Bank, and its variability
    • Operational Solvent Wind Down Plan for the Bank, with supporting financial modelling
    • Detailed analysis of overall financial services provided and recommendation for improvements
  • Confidential engagement – advised a purchaser (US Hedge Fund) to acquire a high-end automotive business, through a litigious prepack engagement
  • Alti Investment Fund (Administration) – involved in the litigation and investigation aspects of the 7 investment funds in administration
