Sam Story is a Managing Director with Teneo’s Financial Advisory business, based in the Cayman Islands. With over 20 years of experience sitting on both sides of the table as client and advisor, Sam leads our Corporate Finance and Infrastructure and Government Advisory engagements across the Caribbean and Hong Kong (the IFCs).
Prior to joining Teneo, Sam was the Head of Infrastructure & Government for the KPMG Islands Group. He has over 12 years of advisory experience and 8 years of in-house experience as the Head of Financial Planning and Analysis and Head of Finance, growing two very successful businesses in the telecoms infrastructure and construction industries in the U.K.
Sam has carried out numerous valuations for disputes and M&A, as well as for reporting and tax purposes, across multiple industries and sectors. He specialises in local M&A deals across the IFCs, providing full buy-side and sell-side assistance. Services include target searches, valuations, buyer identification, deal preparation, financial and commercial due diligence, negotiations, heads of terms support and SPA support through to financial close.
Sam has produced numerous Green Book compliant business cases for the Cayman Islands Government covering almost every major national infrastructure project in the jurisdiction over the last 5-6 years. This has led Sam to become a prominent figure in the Caribbean infrastructure space – playing a major role in the organisation of the annual Caribbean Infrastructure Forum (CARIF), where he has featured on panels and facilitated workshops. For private sector clients in the infrastructure space, Sam has produced feasibility studies, business plans and economic impact studies for schools, hotels and hospitals.
