Richard Nacey is a Senior Managing Director with Teneo’s Financial Advisory business in New Zealand and leads the Wellington Restructuring team.
Richard has extensive experience in business recovery and restructuring, working with clients across New Zealand to navigate complex challenges and deliver practical solutions. Prior to joining Teneo as part of the acquisition of PwC’s New Zealand Business Restructuring Services unit, he was a Partner and leader of PwC’s National Business Restructuring Services team.
Richard is frequently engaged during periods of uncertainty, working closely with management teams to deliver rapid and tangible outcomes. His approach involves quickly assessing complex situations, identifying key priorities and applying rigour and challenge to drive cash and cost improvements, restore stability and support turnaround outcomes. He also assists financial institutions with business appraisals, short-term cash flow reviews and contingency planning advice.
Richard’s experience includes a range of formal insolvency appointments in New Zealand. He also spent time in London during the Global Financial Crisis, working as a business recovery specialist advising lenders and large corporates.
Richard is a Member of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand a Licensed Insolvency Practitioner and is on the Board of the Restructuring Insolvency and Turnaround Associated of New Zealand (RITANZ).
