Richard Mazuski

Manager

Richard Mazuski is a Manager with Teneo’s Energy & Infrastructure business, based in London.

Richard has significant experience advising clients across materials and energy topics. He brings a depth of technical and industry knowledge, as well as strategy and M&A experience.

Prior to joining Teneo, Richard worked at Apricum, a cleantech-focused boutique consulting and transaction advisory firm, and at McKinsey & Co. in Chicago. His clients have included large private equity firms, corporate venture capital, sovereign wealth funds, large utilities, cleantech startups and F100 chemicals producers.

Richard received a Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry from the University of Chicago, where he focused on the initial energy transfer event in synthetic light harvesting materials (an analogue for artificial photosynthesis). He holds a B.A. / B.M. from Northwestern University in Evanston, IL, where he studied Chemistry and Music Performance.

  • 15+ commercial due diligences, Europe / U.S. / Global: Managed workstreams / teams delivering analysis on Target’s value proposition, competitive differentiation, TAM/SAM/SOM, Voice of Customer, across a variety of industries, including renewable energy generation, manufacturing, chemicals, logistics, software, automotive, defense and healthcare.
  • LFP CAM manufacturing due diligence, MENA / U.S.: Led team performing a commercial due diligence of an LFP CAM (cathode active material) in preparation for a corporate venture capital investment, including supply and demand forecasting, competitive landscape mapping, value chain and regulatory analysis, as well as technology, offtake and project feasibility assessment.
  • Battery equipment provider fundraise, Europe: Led team preparing launch materials for the Series A+ capital raise of a battery value chain player providing nanocoating machines for cathode and anode material manufacturers.
  • LiOH conversion due diligence, Europe: Led team in assessing the market opportunity of European LiOH conversion, including assessment of supply-demand dynamics, pricing, and offtake potential.
  • Thermal energy storage market screening, Global: Performed full market / investment screening of TES (thermal energy storage) players for a renewable energy developer, including preparation of a 70+ company database and 10+ NDA-backed founder interviews.
  • BESS distribution business model, Europe: Performed market and value chain assessments of ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) and European BESS markets.
