Phil Carter is a Senior Managing Director with Teneo’s Financial Advisory business, based in Sydney.
He has over 30 years of experience as a trusted corporate advisor, working on many of Australia’s largest restructurings and corporate advisory engagements across industries including aged care, retail, higher education and mining services. Prior to joining Teneo following its acquisition of PwC’s Australian Business Restructuring Services unit, Phil was a Partner at PwC and PPB Advisory, where he advised on distressed and special situations, including engagements with Channel Nine, Network Ten and Atlas Iron.
Phil has deep expertise assisting companies through operational, financial and regulatory challenges. He has advised boards, regulators, lenders and government stakeholders on restructurings, recapitalisations and business transformations. Recent assignments include acting as co-Receiver of the Presbyterian Church of Queensland, Liquidator of the University Co-operative Bookshop and advising the Department of Health on the RAD Loan Program.
Phil holds an Economics (Honours) degree from the University of Leicester (UK). He is a Registered Liquidator and a Graduate Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, a Member of CAANZ and a member and former Board Member of the Turnaround Management Association of Australia.
