Mike Omahen is a Director within Teneo’s Financial Advisory business, specializing in turnaround and restructuring.
With over a decade of financial advisory experience, Mike guides companies through complex restructurings, both in and out of court. He has successfully advised on Chapter 11 bankruptcies, 363 sale processes and liquidity management for distressed companies across a diverse range of industries, including biopharmaceuticals, aviation, automotive, healthcare and government sectors. His focus areas include cash flow forecasting, liquidity management and operational improvement.
Prior to joining Teneo, Mike was a Director in the Turnaround and Restructuring Strategy group at EY-Parthenon, where he spent 6 years. Prior to that, he provided diligence services to secured lenders at KPMG. Mike began his career in the audit practice at McGladrey (now a part of RSM).
Mike holds a B.S. in Business Administration from Miami University and a M.S. in Accountancy from DePaul University. He is a licensed CPA in the State of Illinois.

- Financial Advisor to biopharmaceutical company Acorda Therapeutics in the company’s bankruptcy 363 sale process; Led the development the 13-week cash flow and DIP budget, actuals reporting tool, claims and scenario analyses, and oversight of bankruptcy reporting requirements.
- Financial advisor to aircraft lessor Nordic Aviation Capital in their successful Chapter 11 restructuring of ~$6.4 billion of liabilities; Responsible for building and managing the 13-week cash flow used in pre-filing lender negotiations, DIP budget and interim reporting, as well as supporting the development of the long-term business plan, first-day motions, and contingency prep.
- Financial advisor to an automotive supplier sold via 363 sales process in Chapter 11; Responsible for building and managing the 13-week cash flow, DIP budget and interim reporting of performance against budget, monthly operating report and claims management.
- Financial advisor to PE backed distressed bicycle parts distributor; Developed detailed business plan model to assess liquidity needs and support lender negotiations around capital raising and equity infusion.
- Out-of-court financial advisor to a safety net hospital; Led liquidity management and forecasting efforts, including EBITDA and working capital initiatives.
- Out-of-court financial advisor to a distressed US territory; Responsible for managing the 13-week cash flow forecasts of the central government and two subsidiary hospitals. Assisted in managing liquidity and drafting lender reporting.
