Michael Wise is a Senior Managing Director with Teneo’s Strategy and Communications business, focusing on IPOs and capital markets advisory.
Michael is one of Wall Street’s most experienced capital markets professionals, having executed hundreds of equity transactions that together have raised hundreds of billions of dollars. His experience spans landmark IPOs, cross-border monetizations and complex, multi-security jumbo offerings. Michael has deep expertise across the financial services, consumer and retail, energy, industrials and healthcare sectors.
Michael joins Teneo after more than 35 years leading equity capital markets teams at JPMorgan, Bank of America, Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley. He most recently served as Vice Chairman, Equity Capital Markets at JPMorgan and Global Vice Chairman, Equity Capital Markets at Bank of America.
During the global financial crisis, Michael headed Goldman Sachs’ Financial Institutions Equity Capital Markets unit, where he advised the U.S. Treasury on monetizing its TARP equity stakes and led the recapitalization of numerous banks. Prior to Goldman Sachs, he was Co-Head of Americas Equity Capital Markets at Morgan Stanley.
Michael earned an MBA from Columbia Business School and a B.S. in International Economics from Georgetown University’s Walsh School of Foreign Service, graduating salutatorian, summa cum laude, and Phi Beta Kappa.
