Senior Managing Director

Mazen A. Skaf is a Senior Managing Director with Teneo’s U.S. Management Consulting business.

Mazen has more than 20 years of experience in management consulting and technology ventures. He has advised clients in a variety of sectors including energy, technology and private equity. He specializes in strategy development and implementation, corporate development, enterprise risk management and strategic portfolio management.

Prior to joining Teneo, Mazen was a Partner and Managing Director at L.E.K. Consulting, a global management consulting firm that advises clients on strategy, M&A, performance improvement and digital transformation.  Prior to that, he was a Partner & Managing Director and member of the Board of Directors at Strategic Decisions Group (SDG).

Previously, he was Chief Business Officer at TRACON Pharmaceuticals and held executive roles at Rapt Technologies, later acquired by Microsoft. Mazen is also a board member at MelRok, an energy IoT company, and member of the advisory board at Faro, a Web 3 company focused on enhancing the engagement of brands with consumers.

Mazen lives in the San Francisco Bay Area and has worked extensively in North America and EMEA. He holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Texas and an M.S. and Ph.D. in Engineering-Economic Systems from Stanford University.

Mazen and his client Donald W. Spillman from Shell Oil Company received the first INFORMS Decision Analysis Society Practice award for their work in portfolio management. Mazen was a Fellow of the Stanford Center on Conflict Resolution and Negotiation. He is also a Fellow of the Society of Decision Professionals. His work has been featured in Harvard Business Review, The Wall Street Journal, CNBC, Bloomberg Businessweek and several other publications.
