Mariko Saito is a Vice President in Teneo’s Tokyo office, bringing extensive experience in strategic communications, reputation management and complex corporate situations, including mergers and acquisitions (M&A), shareholder activism and crisis management. She advises clients on navigating high-stakes communications challenges and safeguarding corporate reputation during pivotal moments.
At Teneo, Mariko works with clients across a broad range of sectors to support strategic communications initiatives, particularly in the context of M&A transactions, activist engagement and crisis situations. She partners closely with senior executives and leadership teams to develop and execute communications strategies that address stakeholder concerns and drive business objectives.
Prior to joining Teneo, Mariko was a business reporter at Nikkei, Japan’s leading financial and business newspaper. She covered corporate news across industries including apparel, sports, leisure, consumer goods and retail, reporting on corporate strategy, M&A transactions, restructuring and market trends. In this role, she built strong relationships with senior executives and trusted sources, conducting in-depth interviews and providing insightful analysis of complex business developments.
