Marcel Herter is a Senior Managing Director with Teneo and the Founder and Head of Herter & Co., Teneo’s Financial Advisory business in Germany.
Marcel has over 30 years of experience in financing and capital markets and is a pioneer and market leader in corporate debt advisory in Germany. He founded Herter & Co. in 2012 and has developed it into the market leading firm in debt advisory for corporates and sponsors, as well as restructuring advisory in the DACH region. In 2023, Herter & Co. was acquired by Teneo, with Marcel continuing as its leader.
Prior to founding Herter & Co, Marcel was the Head of Debt Advisory and Financial Restructuring in Germany for Lazard. Prior to joining Lazard, Marcel held several positions with Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein, most recently as the Head of Leverage Finance for Germany, Central and Eastern Europe. Marcel began his career working with Dresdner Bank AG.
