Malcolm Hollis is a Senior Managing Director with Teneo’s Financial Advisory business in New Zealand, based in Christchurch.
Malcolm has over 30 years of experience assisting organisations in navigating financial and operational complexity. Prior to joining Teneo as part of the acquisition of PwC’s New Zealand Business Restructuring Services unit, he was an Executive Director at PwC New Zealand and previously a PwC Partner for 15 years, leading the PwC South Island restructuring practice.
Malcolm specialises in supporting boards, financiers, trustees, government authorities and executive teams in financially constrained environments. His experience includes business appraisals, turnarounds, investigations, viability reviews, expert witness roles, receiverships and liquidations. He regularly assists organisations facing cash flow challenges, strategic alignment issues and performance pressures, providing clear and pragmatic advice grounded in operational and financial insight. He is a Licensed Insolvency Practitioner and takes a particular interest in ensuring all possible solutions are explored before insolvency action is taken, advocating for early intervention to minimise losses and achieve the best possible outcomes.
Malcolm has worked across a wide range of industries including agriculture/rural, manufacturing, mining, service/hospo, financial services, property and construction, transport, IT and not for profit. He has also worked in Wellington and London and has been based in Christchurch since the early 2000’s, where he has developed a strong reputation as a trusted adviser within the business community.
Malcolm is a Member of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand, the Restructuring Insolvency and Turnaround Associated of New Zealand (RITANZ) and is a Licensed Insolvency Practitioner.
