Juan José Perojo is Senior Managing Director and Head of Financial Advisory in Latin America with Teneo.

Juan José has wide-ranging experience in assisting a variety of businesses and debt / equity providers in strategy development, performance improvement, business restructuring / turnaround and transformation delivery. He has assisted both corporate groups and investors in restructuring processes, and has advised in several debt and equity issuances, in the recovery and creation of value through independent business reviews, and in advising on the survival of groups with an international presence.

Juan José has an MBA as well as a Master in Advanced Finance (CFA Partner) from IE Business School and a Master’s Degree in Industrial Engineering and holds Chartered Engineer status with the IMechE.

Selected Project Experience:

  • Represented a group of 10 lenders in the restructuring of a USD 1.5bn refinance and supported the issuance of two listed securities of a global restaurant retailer with presence in America & Europe.
  • Represented the lenders of a credit syndicate of a cinema chain with operations in the US and Mexico.
  • Supported a Global Gaming Company in the development of its business plan to raise new money and provided liquidity management and interim support to the operations in certain jurisdictions that were suffering performance issues.
  • Represented the banks of a global PET manufacturer executing a debt-to-equity swap and supported the set up of the new management team and board.
  • Led liquidity management for a construction and infrastructure business, developing and implementing cash flow improvements that generated a surplus of over £300m, used to reinvest in the business and reduce financial leverage.
  • Led the financial and operational restructuring of a global professional services business as Chief Transformation Officer.
  • Led multiple M&A processes of companies in distress.
