Derrick Vickers is a Senior Managing Director with Teneo’s Financial Advisory business, based in Brisbane.
He has more than 30 years of experience advising financial institutions, corporates and stakeholders on restructuring, turnaround and insolvency, including credit assessments, distressed M&A and formal appointments across a wide range of industries. Prior to joining Teneo following its acquisition of PwC’s Australian Business Restructuring Services unit, Derrick was a Partner at PwC, where he served as National Leader for Business Restructuring Services in Australia and later as the firm’s National Risk and Quality Partner for the Business Recovery Services team.
Derrick has acted as administrator, liquidator and receiver on some of Australia’s largest and most complex matters. His experience includes serving as liquidator of Mezzanine Finance companies with over AUD 300m owed to creditors, acting as special purpose liquidator of an indigenous funeral insurance provider and overseeing the voluntary administration of major civil and engineering contracting groups. He has also led significant distressed M&A assignments across agribusiness, retail, health, construction, hospitality and real estate, often involving extensive fraud investigations and multi-stakeholder negotiations.
Derrick holds a Bachelor of Business (Accountancy) from Queensland University of Technology. He is a Registered Liquidator, a Member of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CAANZ) and the Australian Restructuring Insolvency and Turnaround Association (ARITA), and is a former National Board Member of ARITA.
