Brian A. Glasgow is Chairman, Eastern Caribbean with Teneo. His experience includes local, cross-border and multi-jurisdiction restructuring engagements as well as international litigation, including Chapter 15 assignments under the U.S. Bankruptcy Code.
Prior to Teneo, Brian was an insolvency partner with KPMG in Barbados and the Eastern Caribbean. He also spent time as a consultant with Interpath Caribbean and as an independent insolvency practitioner specializing in liquidations, receiverships and other bankruptcy related matters. Brian was among the first practitioners to commence bankruptcy proceedings in Saint Vincent under the new Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act, a modern compilation of insolvency legislation.
Brian is a Licensed Trustee in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines. He is a qualified accountant – Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, UK; Certified Public Accountant, Canada – and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of the Eastern Caribbean (Saint Lucia branch). He also holds a Master’s degree in Accounting and Finance (MSc) and is a Chartered Director.
Selected Project Experience:
- Coordinator of the Judicial Managers of the Eastern Caribbean operations of BAICO (Anguilla, Barbados, Dominica, Montserrat, Saint Kitts-Nevis, Saint Lucia and Saint Vincent), with liabilities of approximately USD$400 million.
- Judicial Manager of the Saint Vincent and the Grenadines and Montserrat operations of BAICO.
- Liquidator of the Shell Global holding company in Saint Lucia.
- Trustee in Bankruptcy of Harlequin Properties (SVG) Limited (this company has approximately 3,000 UK resident creditors with liabilities in excess of USD$250 million).
- Liaise with the UK-based Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS) on the Harlequin bankruptcy.
- U.S. Federal Court-appointed custodian of BAICO assets in the U.S.
- Joint Liquidator of Marquis Estate in Saint Lucia.
- Court-appointed receiver for sale of assets confiscated under drug and money laundering legislation.
- Joint Receiver of an automobile dealer in Saint Lucia.
- Joint Liquidator of InterContinental Insurance (an international insurance company).
- Court-appointed Controller of an international bank.
- Joint Liquidator (former) of Antigua Overseas Bank.
- Bank-appointed receiver for banks in Saint Lucia and Saint Vincent (including Bank of Saint Lucia, CIBC FirstCaribbean Bank and Bank of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines).
- Conduct of several Members’ Voluntary Liquidations of international banks and regional entities.
- Receiver (both joint and sole appointments) of entities in Saint Vincent, Antigua & Barbuda, and Anguilla.
- Court-appointed Liquidator of several companies in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.
- Team member of a provisional liquidation of a shipyard in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.
