Bethany Sherman

Senior Managing Director

Bethany Sherman is an expert in leading global teams and campaigns, as an advisor and in her capacity in senior corporate communications roles for two of the world’s most visible brands.

She has more than 25 years of experience in reputation, issues and crisis management, CEO positioning, and financial communications. At Teneo she focuses on leading clients with reputation defining initiatives and communications working across sectors including retail, logistics, technology and industrial.

Previously, Bethany served as the Chief Communications Officer for Dow Jones/The Wall Street Journal. As the company’s first CCO, Bethany created a centralized, global communications function for the company’s portfolio, including The Wall Street Journal, Barron’s, WSJ. Magazine, Dow Jones Newswires and Factiva and led communications for editorial and commercial initiatives, reporting to the CEO and publisher.

Prior to Dow Jones/The Wall Street Journal, Bethany led the global communications function at Nasdaq as Senior Vice President of Global Communications. During her tenure, Bethany was a part of the integral team in Nasdaq’s transformation from a U.S. market to a global exchange and led communications during the financial crisis of 2008.
Bethany holds a B.A. from Boston College.
