
Amita Riksen
Amita Riksen is a Senior Advisor with Teneo’s Energy and Infrastructure practice. She brings over 25 years of experience in energy global markets and a diverse background in industry, investment advisory, law and engineering.
Amita’s expertise lies in structuring complex, large-capital investments and forging partnerships where foreign capital, geopolitical risk, sovereign objectives, social dimensions and performance targets must align for long-term success. She has uniquely extended her depth in energy and natural resources sectors to spearheading healthcare facilities, education, remote housing and tech infrastructure across North America, Europe, Asia-Pacific and Sub-Saharan Africa.
Most recently, Amita served as asset manager for JERA Co’s $3.1B investment portfolio in North American LNG and led M&A for low-carbon fuel investments supplying Japan’s energy market. Amita previously held several leadership and executive roles at Rio Tinto, Accenture, PricewaterhouseCoopers, ExxonMobil and Royal Dutch Shell plc. During her tenure at ExxonMobil and Shell, Amita oversaw significant growth investments and transformative strengthening of stakeholder relationships guiding boards and governments through high-stakes transactions, joint ventures, governance reform and policy enablement in Nigeria and Papua New Guinea.
Amita holds degrees from the University of Cambridge (Law, LLM), Stanford University (MSc Engineering), the University of Chicago Booth School of Business (MBA) and the University of Oklahoma (BSc Engineering). She is a member of the Bar of England and Wales and an active participant in energy councils and sustainability policy forums with the University of Cambridge and Stanford University. Amita has been recognized for her commitment to national service at the highest level of government securing nomination to the prestigious US White House Fellowship program.
