Teneo Appoints Philipp Grontzki as a Managing Director

Teneo, the global CEO advisory firm, today announced the appointment of Philipp Grontzki as a Managing Director with the firm's Strategy & Communications business.

A communications professional with 20 years of experience in corporate communications and financial journalism, Philipp focuses on investor relations and C-level positioning, supporting Teneo clients in effectively communicating with capital markets.

Prior to joining Teneo, Philipp held senior communications roles for more than ten years at various German blue-chip companies. He was most recently head of external communications at DAX-listed Sartorius AG, where he was responsible for the communication of quarterly earnings and several M&A projects, including the acquisition of Polyplus-transfection in 2023 for about €2.4 billion. Before that, Philipp helped set up the financial media relations subfunction at Siemens Healthineers after the 2018 IPO and was instrumental in the communication of the $16 billion takeover of Varian Medical Systems, which was conducted during the coronavirus pandemic and remains the largest acquisition in the company’s history to date.

As media spokesman at Osram, Philipp was involved in the spin-off from Siemens and played a key role in the communication of the company’s transformation from a traditional lighting maker to a high-tech company – a change that also included the sale of the general lighting lamps business with roughly 10,000 staff to a Chinese consortium in 2017. Before switching to corporate communications in 2012, Philipp worked as a journalist for Dow Jones, The Wall Street Journal and Bloomberg for almost nine years. After having started his career as a general assignment reporter in Vienna with a focus on corporate news, he moved to Frankfurt in 2007 to cover German technology companies.
