Client Development Director

Simon Kew is the Client Development Director with Teneo in London, having joined Teneo as part of its purchase of Deloitte’s UK Restructuring business.

Simon leads on strategy and relationships for pensions advisory across the UK and Ireland, encompassing clients, intermediaries, regulators and government.

Simon’s focus is on pensions-related advisory services that include the provision of advice to trustees and corporates as part of the scheme funding process, by way of a covenant assessment or through regular monitoring, helping to find innovative solutions to funding issues or supporting relevant parties in mergers, acquisitions or wider restructuring.

A former ‘Pensions Regulator’, Simon is a high-profile industry figure and is frequently asked to judge awards throughout Europe, speak at events or quote for the press as an expert on employer covenant and pensions regulation.

 

Selected Project Experience

  • Case Manager – leading on some of the country’s largest multi-national schemes.
  • Policy Lead – driving the widely-praised Open Market Option project.
  • Administration and Governance – traced the money trail on the GP Noble case.
  • Government relations:
    • Briefed TPR Executives and managed their interaction with industry / government;
    • Led the relationship, on behalf of TPR, with the PPF, FCA, DWP, BIS and Downing Street;
    • Key director of TPR strategy in relation to government bodies; and
    • Supported Chief Executive in influencing EIOPA, through the OPC.
