Poul Skytte Christoffersen
Poul has a long career in Diplomatic service, including as Danish Permanent Representative to the EU for 9 years, bilateral Ambassador to Italy and to Belgium, and Chief negotiator for the Council in the final phase of the enlargement negotiations in 2002.
He worked 18 years in the European Institutions serving as Head of Cabinet to Commissioner Fischer Boel and after 2010 he was Special Advisor to High Representative on Foreign and Security policy, helping set up the European External Action Service.
Throughout his career, Poul has acquired extensive knowledge on trade policy, having been directly involved in trade negotiations, and more recently, Brexit, with frequent contact with senior officials involved in the process. He has an extensive contact network with top officials in the Institutions.
He is President of the Board of Think Tanks on European Affairs in Copenhagen (Think tank EUROPA) and Brussels (European Policy Centre). And he is a frequent public speaker on European Affairs at public events.
Poul holds a Master of Economics from Copenhagen University and Diploma of Higher European Studies from College of Europe, Bruges.
