Marc Mercer

Managing Director

Marc works closely with the firm’s clients, providing counsel across the disciplines of government affairs, political risk and strategic communications.

He also works closely with the Chairman of Teneo International, managing a number of strategic initiatives across the firm’s global business.

Previously, Marc worked as an Africa analyst at Eurasia Group where he led their East Africa coverage. He also served as a foreign policy advisor to former U.S. President Bill Clinton and the Clinton Foundation with a particular focus on the Middle East and Africa. He started his career in Formula 1 working for the sport’s rights holder.

A global citizen, he has lived and worked in some of the world’s major capitals – including New York, London, Dubai and Johannesburg – and traveled extensively, particularly across the Middle East & Africa.

Marc graduated with a B.A. (Hons) in International Comparative Studies from the University of Western Ontario in Canada and a Msc in Global Politics from the London School of Economics.
