Karthik assists companies or their stakeholders with restructurings and interim management. He has more than 20 years of operating, investing and advisory experience across a variety of industries, including insurance, technology, healthcare, energy, and retail.
Karthik joined Teneo in connection with its acquisition of Goldin Associates, LLC. At Goldin Associates, he played a key role in high-profile engagements involving restructuring, interim management, failed funds advisory, creditor advisory, and litigations related to fraudulent conveyance and valuations. He brings significant operating experience in the technology industry through his experience at Dassault Systemes, an enterprise software company.
Most recently, Karthik was the interim COO of uBiome, a DNA health testing company, where he oversaw business operations and strategy leading a 100-person team. Karthik has also played a key role in several large restructurings, including J.Crew, Southeastern Grocers, Energy Future Holdings, Pulse Electronics, Syncora, and Ambac. Karthik served as interim head of financial planning at Syncora Guarantee, an insurer, where he was responsible for financial modeling and liquidity planning as the company undertook two restructurings.
Karthik’s notable creditor advisory assignments include Vivus Pharmaceuticals, Novum Pharmaceuticals, Metal Partners Rebar and Ultra Petroleum. Notable failed funds and litigation support advisory engagements have included Platinum, Fletcher, Millennium, and Physiotherapy Holdings. As part of his work for the Fletcher Funds, Karthik testified on fraudulent conveyance and solvency. He is also currently acting as the court-appointed receiver for a failed venture fund.
Karthik received an M.B.A., with honors, from the University of Chicago. He also holds a B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Mumbai, and an M.S. in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Iowa.
