John Ratchford

Managing Director

John is a practising lawyer with over twenty years’ experience providing strategic advice to senior executives.

John’s corporate advisory practice has included large corporate transactions, strategic and crisis communication, complex legal and regulatory matters, and corporate public affairs campaigns.

Prior to joining Teneo, John was a Principal and General Counsel at Navigator Ltd., previously served as Counsel to the Premier of Ontario, and practised law with two of Canada’s leading law firms, Gowlings LLP in Toronto and Stewart McKelvey LLP in Halifax.

John has served on a number of volunteer boards, including the Sarcoma Cancer Foundation of Canada, the Parkinson’s Foundation, Arthritis Society, and United Way of Halifax.

John received an Honours Bachelor of Arts degree from St. Francis Xavier University in Nova Scotia and his LL.B. from the University of New Brunswick. He was called to the bar in Nova Scotia in 1995 (since retired), and the bar in Ontario in 2000. He is a member of the Law Society of Ontario.
