Eamon Donoghue is an Associate Director with Teneo’s Strategy and Communications business, based in Dublin.
Eamon has over a decade of experience as a senior journalist with The Irish Times and now as a contributor for the state broadcaster RTÉ. Working mainly as a journalist and columnist across the sport, news, business, data, and features sections, he also led the digital sports team in Ireland’s leading publication The Irish Times.
Since moving into communications, he has focused on media strategy and crisis communications, across crisis preparedness and issues management, as well as leading on media training and providing written content for a range of clients. He also worked on secondment in the role of Director of Communications for Ireland’s statutory body for Sport and physical activity – Sport Ireland.
His media background includes experience as a TV presenter for several years – performing in a live environment – and working as a breaking news journalist for The Irish Daily Mail.
A Dublin City University graduate with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Journalism (Honours), he was named among the Sport for Business 30 under 30 leaders of the future. He also proudly represented Roscommon at the highest level of Gaelic football, and played for League of Ireland soccer club, Athlone Town.
