Chris Howells is a Senior Vice President with Teneo’s Strategy and Communications business, based in Singapore. Chris helps organisations define and project their values and identity amidst increasingly complex demands facing CEOs. Chris has worked across communications issues and challenges in sustainability, society, crisis management and reputation building.
Chris brings almost 20 years of experience across business journalism and communications roles, most recently as Director of Strategic Communications at INSEAD business school. While at INSEAD he built and led a global team spanning the institutional communications, internal communications, social media, media relations and research communications functions. Across priority markets from the Americas to Europe, the Middle East and Asia, he advised the executive committee on narrative, storytelling, thought leadership and reputation management to grow and protect the school’s standing across the world.
Originally from the UK he’s spent most of his life in Asia. Before INSEAD, he worked for Fleishman Hillard supporting blue chip corporate clients in reputation and PR campaigning across Asia. Prior to his career in communications, Chris worked as a business journalist at CNBC Asia, most notably producing Squawk Box Asia, the channel’s prime time show, as well as and working in local media as a Senior Business Reporter across TV, print, radio and online channels.
