Charles Thresh is the Head of Financial Advisory with Teneo in Bermuda, having joined Teneo following its acquisition of KPMG’s Bermuda Restructuring business. Charles has worked in the professional services environment for more than 30 years, 27 years of which have been within the Advisory arena, in London, Australia and Bermuda, focused on transactional services such as restructuring, forensic, corporate finance and transaction support.
Prior to joining Teneo, Charles was Managing Director and Head of Advisory for KPMG in Bermuda, which provided a range of Risk Consulting, Management Consulting and Deal Advisory services to local and international clients with a Bermuda presence. Charles also lead the Forensic service lines for the KPMG Islands Group, a sub-region comprising Malta, Channel Islands, Isle of Man, Bermuda and the Caribbean.
Charles has acted for Boards and management of debtor companies and for creditors of distressed businesses. He has also provided due diligence services to clients in a range of industry sectors. Charles has managed many insolvent liquidations and investigations in financial services and operating/holding companies, including at the request of Regulators.
As the head of Forensic services, Charles advised regulated entities on their financial crime compliance regimes and their interactions with regulators, for which Charles and his team has also provided support. Charles led the largest client file remediation project ever successfully undertaken in Bermuda.
Selected Project Experience
- Appointed as Joint Liquidator in a number of Court liquidation appointments over investment funds with diverse and complex assets.
- Solvent liquidation of companies as part of group restructuring, including for Motorola, GE and Lend Lease.
- Insolvent liquidation of various businesses, including; insurance, telecoms, security systems, property developers and building management contractors.
- Pre-lending reviews for banking syndicates in multinational, multi-million dollar contexts.
