About Value+
Teneo Restructuring was launched in May 2021 following the acquisition of the Restructuring Services business of Deloitte UK. Teneo’s Restructuring business advises corporates, funds, creditors, and other stakeholders in situations of both stress and when looking to maximise value. Value+ is the dedicated arm of Teneo Restructuring that delivers this through a combination of value enhancing advisory, personnel and co-investment solutions.

The Role
As part of this we are looking to recruit an Associate Consultant to be based in Hong Kong as part of our Asia-Pacific Value+ team. As an Associate Consultant you will support:

  • Client Service delivery – Be a part of dynamic project team on a diverse range of challenging engagements – this will involve working at the most senior level of organistions with owners, directors and senior executives to identify and deliver value creation opportunities.

Overview

This role suits financially literate individuals that want to work at the leading edge of the financial services and investment industry. This job provides a rare opportunity to work at the most senior level of the worlds’ leading organistions, but also operate within a highly dynamic and entrepreneurial culture. It would suit those who possess an analytical and execution mindset and who have worked in the fields of top tier consulting, banking and/or asset management. Applicants will need to demonstrate a true interest in the sector and show an eagerness to continually learn and progress.

 Responsibilities:

Client Service

  • Is a key team member working on Value+ engagements on a day-to-day basis, including managing and developing junior colleagues/interns.
  • Produces high quality deliverables within planned timescales with excellent attention to detail
  • Starts to develop an understanding of financial engagement economics and risk management
  • Supports and contributes to client presentations and meetings
  • Helps teams Meet team specific performance targets

Knowledge Acquisition

  • Passes exams at first sitting if elects to do ACCA/ ACA
  • Continues to build technical expertise, broader business advisory and people management skills
  • Developing client relationship skills and building sector knowledge

People and Leadership

  • Supports leadership in creating an inclusive environment
  • Proactively supports the development of colleagues by providing timely feedback and identifying development opportunities e.g. mentoring/ buddying
  • Continues to develop personal brand

Business Development

  • Begin to build internal peer level contacts which provide opportunities to meet and share ideas on initiatives
  • Become aligned to a sector or marketing key account team, including participating in, and organising marketing events
  • Assists in preparing research documents and pitch documentation

Requirements:

  • Top tier strategy consulting, asset management or capital markets firm experience – or equivelant
  • Possesses Strong IT skills, especially across Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook packages.
  • Background in performance, data and company/sector research and analysis
  • Strong communication skills to support working in a high-performance team
  • Ambition to learn and develop further
  • Appropriate experience working or assisting at senior/executive business level
  • Appropriate experience working with, or in asset management, banking, private capital (equity and/or credit) firms and portfolio companies
  • Appropriate experience working in, or advising or executing on strategy or transformational programs
  • Appropriate experience in working or designing performance/value-based frameworks– from financial through to ESG, sustainability and long-term value
  • Background in performance, data and company/sector research and analysis
  • Energising team player and cares about personal development – for themselves and others
  • Strong work ethic, high standards
  • Has interests outside work – to maintain personal balance and wellness
  • Top tier University Graduate with an educational and/or experienced background.
  • Financial modelling and valuation
  • Local language skills – especially English, Cantonese and Mandarin
